Dear Sir or Madam,

I am resigning from my role at [Employer's name].

I am giving you 30 days' notice in writing under Article 75 of the Saudi Labour Law, and I will keep working during it.

Before my last day I will hand my work over and give back anything that belongs to the company.

What each line does

[Date of this letter]
Your notice runs from this date, so keep a copy that shows it.
To: [Employer's name]
Address it to the company that employs you, as named on your contract.
Subject: Resignation of [Your full name]
A plain subject line makes the letter easy to find later.
Dear Sir or Madam,
A neutral greeting works when you do not know who will log it.
I am resigning from my role at [Employer's name].
One clear sentence with no conditions. Saudi law describes a resignation as written and without conditions (Art. 2).
I am giving you 30 days' notice in writing under Article 75 of the Saudi Labour Law, and I will keep working during it.
On an open-ended contract a worker gives 30 days' written notice (Art. 75). The letter names no later resignation date, because the request may not include one (Art. 79 bis). On a fixed-term contract, check your contract first.
Before my last day I will hand my work over and give back anything that belongs to the company.
It shows you mean to leave cleanly, which helps when you ask for your final pay.
Please pay everything owed to me on leaving, including any end of service award due, no later than two weeks after my contract ends, the period Article 88 sets when the worker ends the contract.
When you end the contract, your employer has two weeks to settle (Art. 88).
Please confirm in writing that you received this letter.
Proof of the date you gave notice is your best protection if dates are disputed later.
Yours faithfully, [Your full name]
Sign the printed copy as well, and keep one for yourself.

With a start date, the letter adds the day you joined. With a last working day (not used in Saudi Arabia), it names it, and asks for written agreement if it comes before the notice ends.

The notice rule behind it

Article 75 of the Labour Law sets the worker's notice on an open-ended contract at 30 days, in writing.

Article 79 bis makes the resignation a request. It counts as accepted after 30 days with no reply, and it may not name a later resignation date.

That is why this letter has no last-day line. You have 7 days to take it back, unless your employer accepts it first.

Once the letter is in

  • Hand it in the way HR asks and keep a dated copy.
  • Day 7 is your last chance to withdraw. Day 30 with no reply means it is accepted.
  • Your employer has two weeks from the end of the contract to settle everything (Art. 88).
