Your iqama in Saudi Arabia

  • Your iqama is your Saudi residence permit.
  • Your employer pays to renew it.
  • For a company worker, your employer pays the iqama and work permit fees and their renewal, and fines caused by the employer's delay.
  • A domestic worker is renewed by the household employer: the domestic employer pays the iqama and work permit fees and their renewal, and fines the employer causes.
  • Check any fine with your employer or on Absher before anyone pays.

Which route applies to you

A company worker is renewed by the company. A domestic worker is renewed by the household employer. The two use different Absher services.

Who pays to renew your iqama, and when sets out both routes.

If the iqama has passed its end date, read my iqama has expired.
