Questions
- Which countries does this cover?
- In Saudi Arabia your law cuts your pay when you resign (Art. 85). In Kuwait it does too (Art. 53). The tool shows the steps for those two.
- What about the other countries?
- In the UAE (Art. 51), Qatar (Art. 54), Oman (Art. 61) and Bahrain (Art. 116) resigning does not cut it. In the UAE and Qatar you need 1 full year of service first. Under a year, the tool shows the last working day that completes it.
- How are the dates counted?
- Your last working day counts as worked. Service runs to the day after. In Saudi Arabia two thirds starts on the fifth anniversary itself (Art. 85).
- How much notice do I give?
- On an open-ended contract in Kuwait, you give at least 3 months in writing if you are paid monthly, and at least 1 month if not (Art. 44). On an open-ended contract in Saudi Arabia, you give 30 days in writing (Art. 75). A fixed-term contract follows other rules.
- Does it show how much I keep?
- No. It shows shares and dates. Use the calculator on eosbcalculator.com for the figure at each date.
- Do you keep my dates?
- No. The dates are worked out in your browser and nothing is sent to us. The page address holds the country and dates so you can reopen the result.
