With a start date, the letter adds the day you joined. With a last working day, it names it, and asks for written agreement if it comes before the notice ends.
The notice rule behind it
Article 43(1) of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 lets either side end the contract with written notice. The notice is the period agreed in the contract, from 30 to 90 days.
On probation the rule is Article 9. Give at least 1 month to join another UAE employer, or 14 days to leave the UAE.
Whoever skips the notice pays the other side the wage for it (Art. 43(3)).
Once the letter is in
- Hand it over and ask for a dated receipt, or email it and keep the reply.
- Work through the notice. Your final pay is due within 14 days of your last day (Art. 53).
- Read the reason on your work permit cancellation before you sign it.
